Notes on using them
- Only mention a late fee if your signed agreement or accepted terms include one and local law allows it. See how to calculate a late fee.
- Do not threaten anything you will not do, and do not contact the client's customers or employer.
- Pause new work only if your contract lets you, and say so before you do it.
- If reminders fail, follow what to do when a client doesn't pay.
- For more on timing and wording, see how to handle late payments.
