The rows in the files are made-up examples; replace them with your own.

How to fill it in

  1. Open the template in a spreadsheet or text editor and delete the example rows. Keep the header row exactly as it is.
  2. Paste your transactions in. Use one date format for every row and remove any day-of-week text.
  3. Use plain numbers: no currency symbols or thousand separators. Delete any extra columns.
  4. Save as CSV, then in QuickBooks Online open Banking, choose Upload transactions, and map the columns.

Layouts and rules come from QuickBooks' article on formatting CSV files. Menu names can differ by QuickBooks version and country. Not affiliated with Intuit.

FAQ

Is my bank data uploaded?

No. The converter is JavaScript running in your browser tab. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

Which banks work?

Any bank that exports CSV. Dates, delimiters (comma, semicolon, tab), European number formats, separate debit/credit columns, headerless files and extra summary rows are handled, and you can override the column mapping.

What about ambiguous dates like 03/04/2024?

If every date could be day-first or month-first, the tool warns you and lets you pick the order before downloading.

Is this affiliated with any bank, Intuit, Xero or YNAB?

No. Names are used only to describe which file layout or import format is meant.
